Our Airspace

Jack Garland Airport in North Bay is one of the largest Flight Service Stations in Canada. The airport is equipped with a modern NAV Canada “Tower”, weather reporting, radar and all instrument approach aids. This is something our students get to experience first-hand during a tour of the tower to meet the people behind the voices they hear every day on the radio. The airport is located within minutes of rugged heavily forested crown land containing multitudes of lakes, rock faces and swamps, giving the student access to unlimited training exercises such as confined areas, elevated pad landings, intricate map and compass navigation – all ideal for practicing helicopter operations. The close proximity of our facilities to the training areas, and not needing to wait on the ground or in the air for air traffic control clearances, ensures our students are not wasting valuable time and resources during each and every flight.
